In the Swing of Things

This last week has seen the upswing of the promotional efforts for the new record (of which this site was the inaugural part, of course).  If we use the tiered marketing approach that Marvel Studios has pioneered, we’re nearing the end of Phase I, with the Album Listening Party / Preview Party / whatever we’re calling it this coming Friday.

Phase II, then, begins the following day with the pre-orders going live over at the RMI Records site and continues with the street date release of the record on August 15th, and ends with me riding over the New New York Bridge on a panther.  Or I should say, gliding across, since the panther will of course be imbued with the power of flight.

Then comes Phase III, where some random individual buys a Wonkabar and gets a golden ticket to tour the creepiest chocolate factory this side of Perdition, and concludes with Ted Cruz carving Ronald Reagan into the face of Mount Rushmore with nothing but his teeth and a barrel full of industrial-grade meth.

Phase IV begins and ends with the album gaining sentience and signing itself up for the Columbia Cassette Club.  Naturally, it will receive all eight titles for a penny, then will cancel and change its name to avoid further solicitations.

Phase V?  Two words: jazzercise video.

Anyway, you get the gist.  And it all starts this Friday at The Beast with a Million Eyes Gallery, in Nyack, NY.  Everyone in the lower Hudson Valley within the sound of my… uh, sight of my blog?… hie yourself for some bitchin’ live music, tasty treats and gorgeous art from the Don Henley video.
